This is going to be a really cool readathon taking place from the 9th to the 16th of July. Ely @ Tea & Titles and Val @ the Innocent Smiley (who are both so lovely!) are putting on this readathon for the second time. You can check the details and sign up for the event over here.

The idea is that you pick books and make a list so everyone else can vote for books they want you to read. I've put together a list of ten books that I've been meaning to read so now you get the chance to decide which ones I read during the week of the readathon, and which order I read them in.

So... please help me decide! You can vote for as many books as you'd like. I'll probably aim to read about six of them during that week, we'll see if it works out since it will also be a time of Camp NaNo craziness ;)

Any books you've read up on my list? Are you going to do the readathon? I'd love to see your TBR!

The BookBuddyAThon is a pretty relaxed Readathon from 7-13 May, where you find a buddy to take part with.
Check the details for #BookBuddyAthon Readathon, and the booktube channels of Elena @ Elena Loves Books and Sam @ Cold Tea and Crumbs who have put the event together.

So starting today, I'm taking part in this event with the brilliant Ely! You should check Ely and Michelle's blog @ Tea & Titles!

So anyway, I'm ready and excited!

There are five challenges - here are my picks for the next week:

[Covers link to Goodreads]

1) Choose three books and get your buddy to pick one from them for you to read. Ely picked Rainbow Rowell's Fangirl for me. I'm so excited to read it!

2) Buddy read a book with your buddy. Am I Normal Yet? by Holly Bourne.

3) Read a book with your buddy's favourite colour on. Ely's favourite colour is purple, so I'm reading Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo.

4) Read a book that's title starts with the first letter of your buddy's name (or at least appears in the title if not possible). Every Day by David Levithan. I've been wanting to read this one for ages!

5) Read a book that you want to... just because. Probably Julia Vanishes by Catherine Egan, because I have way too many ARCs I need to read.

Are you taking part in BookBuddyAThon? If not, what are you reading at the moment? Are there any other interesting events going on?

Hello lovelies!
My internet DIED on Friday, so I have spent an entire weekend without wifi. (Okay, I admit it: I've sat in my favourite coffee shop for hours because apparently I can't live without being able to contact you all every minute of the day). It should start working on Monday morning - they promised me it would - so I'll be back and checking all your lovely Sunday posts soon!

In other news I am still working on a Master's thesis but don't have a confirmed topic. So basically I'm a very stressed out little Annika at the moment.

Maybe most importantly, I've started writing for Camp NaNoWrimo. Because of that, my life basically resembles this picture:

It's Day 3 now, and I'm at just over 10,000 words. My goal is 30k, but I think I might just stretch it to 50k, since the writing gods seem to be somewhat familiar for the moment.

This Past Week in Review

Hello lovelies! Hope you're having a wonderful time easting Easter chocolates!
✦ This weekend seemed like it might get a bit quiet as I live away from family, so my plan was this:
Then I decided some others might be in as similar situation (or might just like an excuse to be antisocial and stay indoors) so I started an impromptu TBR challenge/ReadAThon! You're more than welcome to join us on your blog, twitter, or instagram, by sharing your Easter weekend reading plans! Officially #HidingReadAThon ends on Monday evening, but I'll leave another link-up for wrap-up posts. And of course, I'm doing a few little prizes so that's pretty exciting :)
Sorry about the essay, but I'm really excited about this!
✦ The West End revival of Guys and Dolls is on tour so we went to see it and it was so much fun!
✦ I actually didn't spend any money on books - for an entire week. Mild applause? Thank you.
✦ I finished and handed in my last assignment as a Master's student. Now onto the dissertation.

Received copies for review - these seem really cool!

Won this in a GR giveaway and I'm so excited to finally read it!

Got a few things for my kindle (although Memories of Ash is a preorder!) - thank you to Kimba for arranging the giveaway for her Read-A-Thon :)

✦ Sadly, the last posts for Rachel's Blogging Extravaganza
(details are up on Beauty and the Bookshelf)
✦ #HidingReadAThon wrap-up post (that you can link to)
✦ Mini-reviews of my Easter Weekend reads!

How was your week? Do you get time off for Easter? If you're doing some reading today and Monday, please consider sharing your TBR for #HidingReadAThon and link up :) Would love to see what you're reading [and to include you on my list for the prizes]!
Hello lovelies!
IT'S FRIDAY! Since I live away from my nearest and dearest and have no way of visiting at the moment, I am making slightly different plans for my 4-day weekend (don't you just love bank holidays?).
If you'd like to join me in my spur-of-the-moment #hidingReadAThon, I've written down some guidelines for it!

#HidingReadAThon

Take part on twitter, instagram, on your blog (or all of them) - it's up to you!
  • write a post with details of your TBR and link-up here by Monday
  • write a wrap-up post on Monday
  • Post your TBR on instagram or twitter (or both!) with #hidingReadAThon. Please also tag me (@hidingbooks) in your entries!
  • do whatever else you'd like - honestly, this is entirely customisable. You do you! I'd love to see what you come up with!
Info on prizes coming up soon! (INTL)

If you know me, you know that I need a list of rules to get anything done so these would be it:
(Feel free to make your own or edit these to suit you! [or go without rules - you rebel, you!] If you don't want to write, don't write, if you want to see people, do it!)

    The Rules

    1. Read as many books off your TBR as humanly possible
    2. Ignore/decline invitations to social functions. It's allowed
    3. Blog hop!
    4. Keep notes on books so you can actually write reviews without forgetting all the details...
    5. Write at least for an hour every day (I'm doing Camp NaNo next month so I have plotting to do!)

So here's my TBR - Am I insane, you ask? Quite possibly. But then, these make a nice 2000 pages and really, it's not that much...?
I seriously doubt I'll be able to get through all of these but in case I do.... I've added an extra points category. It basically just means that if I get to those books by Monday, I will eat loads of chocolate and have some wine to celebrate how amazingly antisocial I am.

    Easter Weekend TBR

    Extra points!

Short notice for a ReadAThon but... Would you like to join me on the dark side and be antisocial and bookish for a few days? If you're interested in reading a book or two or ten and writing a post about your weekend reading plans, add your link below!
Oh, and let me know if you have any ideas for potential prizes ;)

Hello lovelies! I've had a horridly busy week but it's okay now because:
✦ Term is over - no more lectures. Ever. Easter Break, here I come!
✦ I made a trip down south (11 hours to get there on a bus - and then the same thing again the next day!) to see my friends perform in the Wedding Singer. They were so amazing that I cried.
✦ My bestie is visiting me! We haven't seen each other since July!
✦ I've started reading a bunch of really cool ARCs so expect a barrage of reviews in the next few weeks!
    ✦ It's almost spring!

Hi guys! It is finally the weekend again, and I am so happy about it!

    • Yes, I bought books. Yes, I promised I wouldn't. *Sigh* (And since writing this, I have gone back on amazon and bought more books. Oops.)
    • Uni is still busy. I've spent way too much time procrastinating (read: drinking wine).
    • I bought a little bookcase! Look at it! I'm a tad bit excited ;)
    • I've had kind of a miserable week so I've just been home, reading whenever I can ♥
    • We had an awesome hen-do for my friend on Friday!
