Hello my bookish narwhal friends!
I'm really very nearly done with the new website - which is why the blog has been so quiet this week!
But in more important news, my mum got a new kitten yesterday! Feast your eyes on the beauty that is this little cuddle bug. (Her name is Evie.)

She has adopted me as her human (or as my mum would put it I've "stolen her kitten." Technically, yes, maybe, but I couldn't help it!)

When I started typing this, she was asleep. On my foot.
Right now, however...

Hello my lovely little narwhal friends!

I'm currently in London (and heading to Cambridge later today to meet the BFF) so it's basically a mini holiday. I've been a bit quiet this week because politics has been... interesting. And it's unavoidable of course, but there's so much negativity around and it's just not very nice you know? Anyway, although there's not enough gin in England to drown our sorrows, we managed a few drinks last night.

I've also been blogging on my tablet which works well enough but doesn't seem willing to post most images at the moment. This is why I'm changing my blogging platform soonish!

Hello my lovelies!

My little sister is currently visiting, and her baby - my little nephew whom we call Simba - is now two weeks (and a few days) old. It's so relaxing to just hold a sleeping baby for an hour. It's been especially nice since my health has been a bit worse and I had a panic attack a few days ago. At least babies always make us happy, right?

Hello my lovelies!

I've had an interesting week, kind of. My health is... whatever it is, so that sucks, but my godson and his sister (ages 9 and 6) visited me for three days in the middle of the week. It was so nice to do stuff together and be busy but... every time I forget how much energy children have. I got about five hours of sleep every night they were here and when they left I went to bed at seven and slept twelve hours. I guess it's kind of good though because my sleeping habits are rubbish? I really did have a lot of fun! But when they're both teenagers and want to sleep in until noon I am so going to wake them up at 7am complaining that the day's wasting away. ;)

Hello my lovely internet narwhals!

This is my first Sunday Post in a month!! It feels like forever. Let me sum up... I've been reading, writing, annnnd yep. Reading and writing. That's mostly it.

My little sister had her baby this week, and she just got home from the hospital on Friday so that's really exciting. He's tiniest baby boy, and he's adorable!
Other than that, I don't have a lot going on. I'm mostly just trying to figure out what I'm going to do regarding jobs and everything come September. Why is the future so scary?!

Also, something cool happened the other day!
the lovely Emily @ Paperback Princess gave me a shoutout on her blog. She said my posts are hilarious! That's maybe one of my favourite compliments ever. I've always wanted to be funny!

Hello my lovely internet narwhals!

We're finally getting some sun and it feels like summer! On top of that, I just got a ticket home so I'm heading there on Wednesday. You could say I'm pretty excited :)

I'm pretty busy doing my dissertation research now. I've got a meeting again tomorrow (yay!) to go over my bibliography and chapter outline and then I'll be treating my dissertation as a 9-5 job, basically. Is there a better way to spend a summer?

Hello lovelies!

Things actually happened this week, but not in a good way... My cat passed away and I've been in mourning, but also stressed out because I have a meeting with my dissertation supervisor on Monday (despite it being a bank holiday!). So I've taken this week to slow down and be sad, and now I'm going to get back to everything and kick some academic ass (hopefully).

I'm also looking forward to catching up with all of you lovelies' blogs. I feel so bad about being kind of unavailable this past week - but I'm here now!
